Choosing a perfume can be a stressful experience, in fact when asked which notes or aromatic accords we prefer, we feel out of our depth. We're unable to say whether we prefer floral, woody, or aquatic notes… after all, how can we know if we prefer vetiver, amber or patchouli if we don't know what they are?

Choosing a perfume will always remain an olfactory experience to be lived, one that a computer can never replace. The evocative immersion among fragrances, discovering the one that stirs the most special emotions and the most comforting feelings in us, is irreplaceable.

Because each of us has different experiences, the same perfume may evoke different emotions. A fragrance one person loves may not appeal to another. Fragrances also react differently on every skin.

Parfumality only wants to be a new way to get a few ideas, a few starting points from which to begin exploring the variety of fragrances found in the world.

A perfume should be loved and enjoyed by whoever wears it, regardless of gender, yet there are scents that men and women distinctly prefer. The ratings from people who tried them often showed over 90% of preferences leaning toward one gender over the other, revealing a clear imbalance.

For this reason, even though some perfumes were labeled unisex by their makers, we chose to take into account how people actually perceive them, placing them accordingly in the men's or women's categories.

We currently have more than 450 perfumes cataloged.

We update the catalog periodically so we can match the best perfume to every personality. However, despite our efforts, there are some facets of a person's character that don't find a matching perfume. This isn't up to us but to the perfume makers, who often base their creations on stereotyped or similar personalities.
